The following is from Phil’s wife, Deanna.

Phil had great appreciation for his many friends, including those at Piner Middle School and Legacy Bible Church.  Phil was devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was extremely proud of his children, Devon, Terrin, and Amaris.  Although he entered Eternity in 2005, his life remains an example of courage, strength, protection, consistency, and grace.

Phil was gifted in many areas.  He loved the outdoors and drew up camping, snow skiing, and hiking.  He was an Eagle Scout, member of the National Champion Fish Drill Team at A&M, church soloist, Sunday School teacher, watercolor artist, wonderful cook, certified scuba diver, power lifter, and Boy Scout Troop instructor.  He was a 3 Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate, participated in the National Martial Arts Tournament, and ran his own school for 10 years He was gifted with his hands and did many construction projects including the total remodeling of their past two homes.

In 1991, Phil and Deanna moved to Sherman, where he taught World and Texas History in the Sherman School District for 15 years.  Phil had a profound impact on hundreds of students.

"I hope this will work well.  Thank you so much for all of your help!  Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this.  I hope the reunion is a wonderful celebration for all of y’all!"

After graduating from Annandale High School, Phil earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at Texas A&M in 1975, serving in the Corps of Cadets.  Moving to Austin, he taught at Allandale Christian School for 3 years, worked real estate and property management for 10 years, and returned to college to obtain his Masters in Educational Administration at Southwest Texas State.  In Austin, he met and married his first and only sweetheart, Deanna, in 1981.  “The smartest thing I ever did,” he said.  Phil and Deanna made their home in Round Rock, Texas.
