Stephen Dale Early, 65, of Southport passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Mr. Early was born April 11, 1952 in Tampa, Florida, son of the late Donald and Stephanie Chapin Early. He grew up in Virginia and moved with his wife Sandra to Southport 27 years ago. Steve enjoyed fishing, golfing, shooting darts and playing pool, horseshoes, and corn hole. He loved music and was getting back into playing his mandolin. He recently found his talent for furniture refinishing and woodworking. He was also both a Redskin and Panther fan. Stephen Dale Early, 65, of Southport passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
Mr. Early was born April 11, 1952 in Tampa, Florida, son of the late Donald and Stephanie Chapin Early. He grew up in Virginia and moved with his wife Sandra to Southport 27 years ago. Steve enjoyed fishing, golfing, shooting darts and playing pool, horseshoes, and corn hole. He loved music and was getting back into playing his mandolin. He recently found his talent for furniture refinishing and woodworking. He was also both a Redskin and Panther fan.
Survivors include his loving wife Sandra Dale Early of Southport; sister, Paula Marie Krause and husband Walt; brother, William "Davie" Early and wife Becky, sisters, Donna Leigh Barrick, and Catherine G. Williamson and husband Brad. He was loved by many and will also be greatly missed by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Dona Dale and their family, Michael and Mary, Richard and Cheri, and Scott and Karen; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews from both his family as well as Sandra's.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with Pastor Lee Eiss officiating.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 1:00-3:00pm, at the funeral home.
