Kent had problems with his heart going back to 2006 when he had double bypass surgery.  He was better for a while.  He was in poor health until his death.

Kent died on February 8, 2014.  He was living in Hollywood Florida at the time of his passing and is survived by his daughter, Jamiee Davis
