Scott Michael Shafer, 58, of Indianola died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Indianola with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.

INDIANOLA, Miss. -- Scott Michael Shafer, 58, husband of Emily DuBose Shafer, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville, Miss.
Born April 9, 1953, in Annandale, Va., he was a son of the late Quinton Roosevelt Shafer and Orpha Frances Slack Shafer.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years; and two brothers, Thomas Shafer, M.D. and his wife, Susan, of Birmingham, Ala., and Robert Shafer and his wife, Rose, of Pensacola, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Shafer; and a sister, Susie Shafer.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Dr. Mark Durrett officiating.
