I visited with Dave a couple months ago and can assure you he was not afraid of what was next. He shared he had had an awesome life and if this was the end, he was good with it. He trusted in God for his future Many of you know I started writing a blog after recovering from Guillain Barre Syndrome a couple years ago. Here is what I wrote after hearing that David has died. http://thankfulinallthings.com/traveling-through-a-season-of-sadness/

Dave was a great person, his enthusiasm was infectious. I can picture him laughing and joking around. He was always full of energy and happy to see everyone. The last time I saw Dave was a couple of years after graduating from AHS. He was exited to be starting a new job. He was going to be a salesman for a homebuilder. I would say this was the beginning of his career path and the perfect position for someone with his spirit and outgoing personality. I'm happy I had the oppurtunity to know Dave. I hope we meet again. Rest in peace.

I enjoyed my friendship with Dave in High School.  We both loved horses and he invited me to come to the stables.  He wrote in my yearbook that maybe we see each other at some horse shows, ' but not too many'.  I laughed because at the time I had a horse that was an incredible athlete, so a lot of people did not want to see us.  At the 40th reunion we had a great time.  Of course horses were talked about and Dave treated me to a few beers at the Friday night meet and greet.  Once learning of his cancer I was heart broken because my mother fought the same battle and I knew it was tough. Many of us sent words of support and love and let him know he was being kept in prayer. He and John Allen were close and Dave told John's wife, Linda, a few days before Dave passed that John was his rock.  She really liked "Tiggy". John would always ask about "Tiggy" when we talked.  So I am kind of making a post in John's and Linda's behalf also.  Dave always was kind, cute, and had a great smile. I will miss him; and Linda said she hoped he and John were together having a toast, too.

In the past several months I've learned alot about life, strength and courage.  My teachers were my good friends Dave Tighe and John Allen.  Thanks for the lessons my old amigos.  Until we meet again, you'll stay in my thoughts.

Thanks Dave Anderson. I couldn't agree more. They faced the cards they were dealt in ways that I greatly admired. A good example of this was how John was more interested in how Dave was doing and as Dave, saying John was his hero and a rock for him.
