REPOSTED AUGUST 20, 2021

This post is in loving memory of my sibling: KC Medved who passed away of natural causes on Saturday, Nov.19 in Palmer, Alaska. He was found by his dear friend Denise- who must be an angel on earth. Thank you. And thanks to Michael who is also lending his support at this very sad time.
"You lose a part of yourself when someone you know dies. It's a terrible feeling with so many raw emotions attached to the loss. In the end, it is what it is and one must cherish the moments spent with that person and the memories created with them as well," I think.
I will miss KC.
Thanks to all who provided friendship over the past 64 years with Ken, KC, and Kathee. It was not smooth sailing for my sibling, but KC was a good person who loved car racing!! That never changed.
KC taught me to be a better person. The support of the LGBT community helped prevent isolation and loneliness. It was not an easy life, but it was KC's life. Here's to a brighter tomorrow. I am thankful for the years we shared together. Please toast to KC at Thanksgiving! KC would want the drum stick!!❤️🙏🏻

This is a kind note sent to Fred Chandler by Ken's sister

Hi Fred- thought I would let you know that my "brister" KC - aka Kenneth Medved was found deceased in his/her trailer in Alaska on 11/19/16. As you can imagine it was a shock to receive a call at 1 am from the Alaskan police. They said natural causes- lying by the makeshift toilet (privy?) as there was no running water or plumbing where he lived. KC had spent 44 days in Austin and attended the formula 1 races and Austin city limits music fest. It was on KC's bucket list. A friend visited him/her on Nov.3.

So KC died SOMETIME after the 3rd and before the 19 cause the same friend had been texting him/her for a couple of days and decided to go over on her day off. Denise found KC. There was no heat on (coal burning stove).
I had written KC a birthday card but hadn't mailed it cause I wanted to verify his/her address. I was in Lake Powell for KC's birthday Oct. 30- KC turned 64. In the card I had written about meeting you at my 40th reunion. Thought I would let you know since we had spoken about him.
It's still a shock and a loss to lose a sibling. I hope to visit in June.
May KC Rest in Peace. She was cremated the other day in Alaska.
Nice meeting u! JoAnn
