I remeber Noel well. He joined the Air Force after high school and spend the last year of his service at Dover AFB. He was Carl Walsh's Class'73, next door neighbor. During the Fall of '73 Carl , Noel. Jennie Price ,My wife now , girl friend then. and I, would ride in Noel's 1963 ford van down to JMU on Friday afternoons to see Carl's girl friend Sandy Geyer. We went for the great concerts they had there. Like The Doors. etc. Sandy thought her roomate, Barb, and Noel would be a perfect match. She was right They were Married in1977.
Noel died of a brain anurysm. He left Barb with a 3 year old daughter and a 3 month old son. And they had just bought a new house in Herndon, VA. I remeber it all like yesterday.
Noel was the type of person that had to be always busy. I don't think he even knew what a TV was. If he wasn't working on his car, his house or his boat he would be working on a neighbor's car, house or lawn mower. He loved riding in his boat and jumping waves on the potomac.
One last comment about Carl. The reason Carl and I became friends is because he liked cars. And I was as into cars as you could get. Anyway Carl would go to his teachers in school, Senior year '73, and see if they needed any car work. He would then bring the cars to me to help him fix. Then he would take them back and i suspect take all the credit for the repairs. I am sure it didn't hurt his grade any.
