George sat right behind me in Spanish 5, our senior year.  He was a great guy, and kept me sane through that class- most days making me laugh while we were supposed to be paying attention to a class discussion.  I still remember the day, not long before graduation, when I learned there had been an accident and he had passed away.  It still seems odd to think that he won't be writing a "what I've done in the last 40 years" memoir.  He's eternally 17.  Thanks for the great times and memories, George!

I,too, was shocked to hear of his accident. He was full of adventure and fun and was outdoors where he loved to be. I agree with Karen - he was loads of fun, intelligent, and an overall good guy. He is missed.

I lived near George, and we went to the same school bus stop. I couldn't fathom how he could die from drowning... he seemed indestructible, especially after I witnessed another incident. Our neighborhood was hilly, and after it snowed and the streets packed down, we would take our sleds and ride down the center of the street. One evening I was walking my dog, when Kyle was coming down the street lying head first on his sled. He turned the corner at the bottom of the street, and a car that couldnt see him ran right over top of him. I grabbed my dog and ran, screaming.. couldn't be heard of course. The car stopped after a few houses, and I though for sure he was dead. The car must have contacted at just the right angle, because I think he only had minor injuries when the ambulance came.
